The Royal Australian Mint has today unveiled two new coins to mark 75 Years since the end of World War II.
First up is a new coloured $2 coin that will be entering circulation later in the year. The coin design features the three colours representing the armed forces that served during the war, along with the dove of peace. The obverse features the new 6th Portrait of the Queen by Jody Clark.
A special limited version of the coin, with the ‘C’ mint mark will also be made available. This coin comes encapsulated on a folding card, and will have a limited mintage expected to be just 40,000.
In addition to the $2 coin, there is also a limited mintage $5 1oz silver proof coin. With a maximum mintage of just 3,500 and a beautiful design, this coin is sure to be popular. We plan to acquire some of these for sale, so check back with us later (or sign up to our newsletter)
